Pastors and Elders

  • Rick Lyon

    Elder Chairman

Rick has been at Sun Valley, along with his wife (Amy) and 3 daughters, since the church's beginnings in 2003. From 2003 - 2007 he served as an associate pastor on staff. Since that time he has remained active in service as a lay elder.

His hope for Sun Valley is that we would not be satisfied with simply "playing church," but would have such an overwhelming view of the word of God and the glory of Christ that we would passionately desire to see others come to know Him and make much of Him.

  • Dennis Smith

    Elder

Dennis was one of the founding members of the church in 2003 when he and his wife decided to join SVC.

Dennis serves the church in the role of lay elder and regularly teaches adult Sunday Seminars.

Dennis' hope is for Sun Valley to continue to develop into an “authentic Christian community” that increasingly expresses its devotion to God through the Worship that is Biblically Based and informed by the wisdom of the CHURCH through the centuries.

David, his wife Heidi, and his children have been at Sun Valley since 2003. David serves the church in the role of Elder. His role as an elder involves shepherding and teaching. He may teach an adult Sunday school class or lead portions of a Sunday worship service.

David's hopes for Sun Valley Church include: spreading the Good News to the Yakima Valley, praising God corporately, and remaining Christ-centered and grounded in God's Word.

Josh and his wife Heather have been members of SVC since its inception in 2003. They have three children. Josh has been a small group leader at SVC throughout the life of our church. He became an elder in December of 2019. He serves in teaching adult, student, and children's seminars.
